Hege Eriksdatter Østefjells
Hege comes from Norway's southern coast and specializes in rope, double rope and fabric within circus arts. At the age of 17, she moved to Sweden to attend the Circus Gymnasium in Gävle. From there it carried on to London. She lived there for many years while developing her technique and took her bachelor's at The National Center for Circus Arts. To further develop, Hege moved to Brussels where she took lessons in movement quality and expression. It was also there that her curiosity for exploring materials began.
It was with the materials ice, rope, plastic and plastic hoses that she developed her work on the master of Contemporary Circus practitioners at DOCH in Stockholm. She now lives in Stockholm where she works with several different performances in the group ENT management. Among other things, you can see her in the performances Plast and Knekke Greine.
Previous and current works include the show Rime with Square Peg Company, Bastard and Red Fever Tree with Circus Xanti, the opening ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics, performing as part of the 6th congress for the abolition of the death penalty at the Oslo Opera House, touring with Sondre Justad, Einawood Mercury X-mas Show and many more.
