Karavan is a staging ground and platform for contemporary circus formed in 2009 by the circus company Cirkus Saga and the music groups LUR and Faela. We primarily work with circus but are also open up to other performing arts. We create our own performances, provide space for others to create, we arrange guest performances. At Karavan we run workshops for professionals and circus courses for both children and adult beginners. We also organise a circus festival and collaborate with Cirkuscentrum to deliver daily training for professionals.

Grenen vi sitter på (“The branch we sit on”) is a contemporary circus performance where the psychological consequences of isolation test the solidarity of the collective. Feauturing specially composed music and innovative circus, the performance is tribute both to the imagination of the individual and to the collective organization required to make a home or a community work. Created mid pandemic, the piece explores issues like we explore loneliness-togetherness, solidarity and individuality.
